Anyone near SF? Field Day is this weekend (June 28-29) in the Presidio at the old radio shack. Swing on by.
We set up around six HF rigs run off a generator. We have a BBQ grill & beer. The goal is to make as many contacts in the US as possible. Even if you don't have a license or a General/Extra class, you can TX under the clubs license with the rest of us there. It's a great opportunity to try HF frequencies. It's a rush to hear people from Florida, Texas, Idaho, etc. Then you log the frequency & call sign of the contact. It's a good day to ask lots of questions & put faces to the call signs you hear on the local nets.
Stay for the day or just an hour, bring the kids. Don't be shy, come on by! Here is the club site with a map & directions.
